MetaMask has a very vibrant and engaging community with a dedicated forum page on the website. Although there is no way for the attacker to know your private key as it is stored in an encrypted form on the browser, he will still be able to use it to approve transactions if he has access or control of the device. In the event an attacker can gain remote access to your computer, and he knows your wallet password (which I wager he has collected through a key logger or another such method), he will be able to successfully drain your funds away as your private key is stored on the browser all the time. Unfortunately, this means that you are vulnerable to malware attacks as a user. MetaMask wallet can be called sufficiently secure to the extent a browser extension wallet allows. The company plans to roll out the feature in more regions in the future. (state restrictions apply), the U.K., and parts of Europe. The feature is currently available in the U.S. MetaMask Portfolio's Sell feature allows you to cash out your crypto to fiat currency (USD, EUR and GBP). MetaMask also allows users to buy ETH or other native tokens directly via paying with debit or credit cards on the wallet you don't have to rely on a centralized exchange to secure tokens for paying gas on transactions. If you want to use your Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet instead of storing your private keys on the browser, Metamask allows you to connect with your hardware wallet directly. After setup, the wallet owner must designate a password to access the wallet every time it is locked. Wallet setup does not require an email address or other identifying details for registration and is usually set up in minutes. Here we will cover some of the core features and functions of MetaMask Ease of Use MetaMask has a great guide on How to Manually Add Networks to MetaMask. However, you will need to add these networks manually, except for Linea, which is a layer two scaling solution created by ConsenSys (the makers of MetaMask), which will appear as a default network during setup. MetaMask Snaps is an open-source system that allows anyone to safely extend the functionality of MetaMask. With Snaps and EVM compatibility, the wallet can now support Bitcoin, Solana and Cosmos, in addition to: In 2023, MetaMask dropped another game-changing announcement with the introduction of MetaMask Snaps. In its mission to grow beyond the Ethereum Network, MetaMask first started supporting EVM-compatible chains, then branched out support for Layer 2 networks and sidechains such as: MetaMask has become so much more than just an Ethereum Wallet. Furthermore, it works on Ethereum testnets as well, making it very useful as a developer tool. However, what makes MetaMask wallet special is that you can use it to interact with Ethereum Dapps. Someone was able to do something with my wallet, where whenever I send or deposit funds into that accout, boom gone. All of these things, and still gets hacked. I have my DMs closed on discord, so I never receive any dms from scammers. I have most of the sites i visit bookmarked, and all of them are legit. Most of my crypto is safe on my cold wallet account, but how did this happen to my hot wallet account? I never click anything. I tracked the address on snowtrace and it was indeed someone's address. I tried to send small amount of avax between my cold wallet metamask account to my hot wallet account, as soon as the funds landed, it instantly got wiped to 0 and got sent to a different address. I hold most of crypto on that cold wallet account, but something happened to me yesteday which made me worried. Been using it with my hardware wallet connected to it with no issues. I've been using metamask for quiet a while now.
